Happy Memorial Day!!!!

I am grateful to the men and woman that have given up their lives for my freedom. Thanks too to all that have served or are serving today! You are my hero's and deserve the highest honors!

Friday night I went into work at 2145 and worked until 1400 Saturday afternoon. Since it was raining, I elected to stay in the call room at work. The bed wasn't the best, however it was nice to walk upstairs and head straight to bed. I think I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow! Then I was back to work at 2140 for another night of action.

As luck would have it we had a case and what a case it was! The surgeon will remain nameless as it's best that way, was a complete jerk and that really is a mild description of what he really was! You get the picture! We did not pull the case, and much of what we needed was not pulled and I had to leave the room multiple times which he hates. This only made matters worse! Oh, did I mention that he HATES working at night and being called in! Needless to say, I couldn't get finished with that case fast enough!!!!

Sunday, my computer desk broke!!!! The drawer and tray for the keyboard fell off the desk! I really WANTED to order a new wood corner desk for this office space. I resisted the urge and found all but one of the screws and put the drawer and tray back on after a quick trip to Lowes to purchase the additional screws and nuts!

While there I purchased a new shredder! It's great! My old shredder has not worked for some time and the pile of paperwork needing shredding had grown! Gavin is a great helper! My next purchase was a Shark steam mop! It seems to be working okay, it is much better than mopping!

Tomorrow, I have ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support). It's my two year renewal! I haven't really studied so tonight my head must be in the book! I know the basic elements, it just the small details that I need to brush up on!

Wednesday is Gavin's Birthday! I can't believe he'll be six! He's come so far since moving in last January! He sure loves his Daddy! I know he misses his mom, yet rarely voices that! She calls from time to time when she is able. Sometimes her location prohibits her from calling!

Well, enough for this update. I have enjoyed reconnecting with friends from FB, but miss the communication of Xanga!

Until next time . . .

Good Morning!

Thank you Shery and Diana for my Xanga birthday greetings! I had a fabulous birthday! At work, Karen made a Chocolate Chip Cake that was so moist! It was great sharing with all my coworkers! Several of my coworkers sang, "Happy Birthday"! It was a good day! Matthew offered to take me to Labamba after work. Unfortunately, I had to turn him down as Jordan and I had already made plans to go to dinner later that day. I was touched by his thoughtful offer!

Thanks to Mom and Dad, Jordan and Matthew and their gifts, I am a step closer to getting my wii and wii fit! I really appreciate the fact that they honored my wish for cash for my birthday! I'm more thankful for Dave Ramsey and the Financial Peace University. I have learned a new way of doing things thanks to what I've learned and am so happy. If only I had learned and applied these principles years ago! Well, no looking back . . . I'm moving forward and doing things the right way now! It is so worth the wait knowing I'm paying cash!

Jordan and I went to one of my favorite places, Carrabba's!  Gavin was so good even with the moderate wait. He loved playing Tic Tac Toe with Jordan! He ordered his favorite . . . chicken fingers! They served their chicken fingers with pasta, and Gavin loved the pasta! Oh, he had his favorite drink, chocolate milk! Jordan and I enjoyed our favorites as well. In fact, we had enough left over to take home for a second meal! I had my leftovers last night and it was just as good the second time around!

This week on Facebook I reestablished contact with three long time friends. Ruth Beauchamp Lawerence, Charlene McCarthy Blake, and June Braun Matlock. Charlene and June I have exchanged multiple comments back and forth! It's been great catching up with them! Of course all of you remember Charlene! June and I went to nursing school together. She joined my class for the last two semesters. She was from Columbus, GA. It's been so nice catching up! On a sad note, Charlene's mom died on October 31st of 2008.

The seminar I attended yesterday was good! I enjoyed most of the talks! I won a door prize, a lap top bag! It's really nice! Now if only I had a lap top! One day! Again, it's waiting until I have the cash. I'm not saving for that right now. Although I would love a Mac Book, I'm waiting until I've reached a few other goals! Again, I'm happy to wait!

Next weekend, I'm getting my taxes done! I have an appointment with the accountant at 0815 Saturday morning! It usually takes just a few minutes as I have everything ready and she plugs in the numbers and tells me the news of what I'm getting back. I have used this same account for a number of years. She is a fine Christian lady and I have the most respect for her.

I'm looking forward to coffee club next week. I missed seeing my family this week and will enjoy catching up next weekend! I must say it's been nice being home this weekend! I was really tired after the seminar and I didn't get as much as I had hoped! Speaking of the seminar I was given a pin that lights up and I gave it to Gavin. He has loved playing with it! We had to turn off the lights so that he could see the brightness of the glow. Trust me . . . there is never a dull moment here!

Well, I've gone on long enough. Until next time . . .

Good Morning!

It's been a long time since my last post! I hope all has been well with you! We have been fighting colds, sinus infections, stomach bugs and lastly (poor Gavin) joint bleeds! Not exactly the most exciting way to start the new year!

Gavin is healing from his last bleed and still has a cough. I think all this change is weather plays a great part in him keeping a cough this winter. Also being exposed to so many in school. Speaking of school, he is doing better! We are seeing more green lights, although once in a while it's Red! He seems to be either really good or really bad!  The bad is learning to learn to control his temper when he doesn't get his way!

Work has been going well. Yesterday was rather slow and I could have left early. Thankfully, I have a special project to work on and was able to stay and get my hours! Today, the schedule is busy and there will be no going home early.

I'm off this weekend from Dothan! I'm attending an educational seminar on Saturday! It will be interesting! I hope! I need the contact hours. I renew my OR certification next year and must have 100 contact hours and 80 of those hours must be OR related!

I guess that's all my news! Oh, I just thought about something else! There's a new church starting in Dothan this Sunday and they are meeting at the Cinema 2 @ 0930, The Crossing, Stacy Turney will be the pastor. He was youth pastor when Jordan and Matthew were at FA! If you are looking for something different ....give it a try!

Until next time . . .

Happy New Year!

Wow! It's already 2009! I hope your celebration was fun and safe!  Mine was rather uneventful. I joined Jimmy and Jordan for dinner @ Labamba! Gavin and I came home and played Chutes and Ladders, Cootie, and Hungry Hungry Hippo!

I watched the Duchess with Kiera Knightly before calling it a night! It was an okay movie! Matthew gave me a two month membership to Netflix! I have already enjoyed The Bucket List and Because I Said So. Today, I will be watching P.S. I Love You. Of course, I'll be ready for a good cry!

Matthew has been busy arranging his space. It started with a wonderful new bed, a bookshelf and a couple of bedside tables. Gavin's room has taken on a new look with his car/truck comforter set. The playroom has the ladder bookshelf in place and it is much more organized!

I have regained the use of my table that was in the playroom. I'm excited to have a place to work a puzzle or study. I plan to buy a reading lamp to make this new space more useable!

Today, other than doing a couple of things around here. I plan to spend time with my Lord and think and plan my goals for this year, 2009.

Until next time . . .
